Dan Bentz graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with a BS in Exercise and Sports Science, and a double major in Spanish. He has been focusing on partner, small group and one-on-one personal training for over 9 years in the Chicago area.
Dan has trained people at XSport, Trump Tower and Fitness Formula. At Fitness Formula he served as head trainer and mentor to new trainers, Dan has since progressed to owning his own business, Top Shelf Training. Dan’s goal as a health and fitness professional is to design and build the most optimal and efficient exercises for each individual client. He believes in a customized, tailored approach, versus a one-size-fits-all choreographed program.
Dan’s training session’s focus on proper form, positioning, and technique to ensure and deliver each personal training session with a high quality, unparalleled, exercise experience.
Continuing education is extremely important to Dan. He is consistently studying and attending seminars on new training methods to provide his clients with the most up-to-date techniques.

Dan has an athletic background of wrestling, soccer (collegiate) and running track. He participated in the 2010 Chicago marathon, 4 Olympic Distance Triathlons, Half-marathons, and numerous 5k-10k races, and the 2011 Wisconsin Tough Mudder.
